I do want it to come in the sumer though, despite the high temperatures. The reason being not so much the apparent risk that it might get worse, as much as the kids. James' asthma means that towards Autumn / Winter he's constantly chesty and in a bit of a state. Getting a flu on top... hmmm.
Although he - as well as Nora and McK would presumably be listed in the 'high risk groups' that will get an immunisation in August.
It lasts approx 1 week, during which time we could all be at one stage or other of being total wrecks (and you're not supposed to go out anyway, despite everyone else having it anyway). So we're going to get 7 days supply of food in that's easy to cook / store. Not sure what to do about milk etc. Worth buying in dried in case every single milkman in Streatham goes down with it in the same week? Hmm. I think not.
Whilst it is worth pointing out that a person dies of malaria at some astounding rate per second on a global scale, it's also worth saying that Swine Flu is killing people with "underlying health conditions" (presumably that includes Malaria, btw) so as it becomes more widespread, I think we may find the conssequences pretty severe in rural African / developing world populations.
Ok, well, eyes down for a high percentage of chance that I get it every time I get on public transport.
